If you’ve never experienced a gathering on Adam Lee’s front porch, you are missing out on one of Youngstown’s absolute best-kept secrets.
I first met Adam nearly a decade ago. Parker Maynard introduced us back when I was doing volunteer work with the local nonprofit, Flying High. Not long after, Adam invited me to one of his legendary front porch get-togethers, and it blew me away. I’ve been to several since, and the verdict is always exactly the same: they are simply amazing. It’s never just a meal; it’s the incredible food, the vibrant people, and an unforgettable overall experience.
Turning Passion into Purpose
Now, Adam is taking his incredible gift for cooking and entertaining and turning it into a full-fledged business! He is deeply passionate about buying and growing food locally, and he is on a mission to share that knowledge with the rest of us. Soon, Adam will be offering public cooking and foraging lessons, organizing food-related fundraising projects, and launching ongoing community potlucks and food swaps to keep the neighborhood connected.
The Community Leader
Adam isn't just a culinary talent; he is a dedicated pillar in our community. When he isn't out foraging or smoking chicken to perfection, he serves as a Program Director for Youngstown CityScape and brings his energy as a key member of the First Friday planning team. He is a natural connector who loves moving this city forward.
We Need Your Help: Kitchen Space Wanted!
To bring these interactive cooking workshops to life, Adam is currently looking for available kitchen spaces within the City of Youngstown. If you own, manage, or have a lead on a community or commercial kitchen where he could conduct his lessons, we want to hear from you!
