MEET KRITIKA: THE YSU STUDENT ROOTING HER VISION IN OUR COMMUNITY

Every once in a while, you meet someone whose energy instantly lifts the room. We recently welcomed Kritika to the team—and she is bringing pure light and purpose to our soil.

Originally from Nepal, Kritika is an Environmental Science major at Youngstown State University. After overcoming her own challenges back home, she now pours all her focus into giving back. For her, protecting the planet is simple:

"Resources are not being distributed fairly, people are not being cared for, and our natural resources need protecting. Let's just help the planet, because we need the planet."

Community First, Always

Kritika also works with the YSU Geography Department on local community redevelopment. While she is still mapping out her exact career path, every single version of her future centers on one word: Community.

You can find her out at the Climate Change Action Center (CCAC) planting seeds, prepping garden beds, and getting her hands dirty. For Kritika, touching the soil is a reset button, and she constantly encourages others to join her when they need to decompress.

Kritika is a reminder that we can all step up to leave our neighborhood better than we found it. Next time you see her at the CCAC properties, stop by, say hello, and if you have time, you can help plant some seeds too!
